The customers of this service are two experts from Safedeck, a hundred-year-old British company specializing in the production of composite special material flooring and door panels.
Before starting the work, we made detailed preparations: browsing the client's website and recording the professional English vocabulary, such as the terminology of the client's industry: GRP (glass fiber), FRP (fiber reinforced plastic), WPC (wood-plastic composite), phenolic (phenolic resin), pultrude (pultruded processing), etc. Every time we do translation work, we will come across different words and vocabulary in different industries. Each translation work will encounter terms and vocabularies of different industries, and I personally think that it is very important to record the words and terms encountered every time for translation work. Collecting, categorizing and memorizing the terminology encountered in the work, day by day, from quantitative change to qualitative change, there will be a day when the translator will also become an expert in a certain industry field!
Work with the July 11th 8:30 am start, because the work time is relatively early, I usually check the day before the work of the transportation route, reasonable arrangement of time on the road, to avoid delays due to traffic problems. That's why it's so important to give customers the first Good impression: being on time.
Arranged by the supplier, the British customer and I visited the factories located in Nantong, Huzhou, Wuxi and Suzhou respectively, which mainly produce composite materials such as GRP, FRP and WPC, and export their products to Europe, America and other countries, and they are also the main suppliers of the British customer. During the meeting, the customer inquired about the supplier's order shipment, as well as the price and material characteristics of the new products. Moreover, after the meeting, the customer made a careful inspection of each production workshop, and put forward some suggestions on the factory's safe production and standardized operation.
Suppliers also said that in recent years, the Chinese government on environmental protection requirements are very high, many small manufacturers because they do not meet the environmental protection and safety production are closed by law enforcement agencies, now China is no longer like the early days of reform and opening up, no matter what the production is licensed, resulting in rapid economic development and the environment is seriously polluted, the government is also aware of the Western countries can not go "first pollution after treatment" the old way, but the need to adjust the industrial structure to phase out high-polluting, high-energy-consuming industries. The government also realizes that it cannot follow the old way of "pollute first and treat later" of western countries, but needs to adjust the industrial structure and gradually eliminate the industries with high pollution and high energy consumption.
Through the three-day supplier visits and factory inspections, the two British guests felt satisfied that the Chinese people were very hospitable. When they came to China for the first time, they felt that China has a lot of skyscrapers, not less than the UK. The highway is also well-developed, and at the same time, it has retained its own cultural traditions such as the classical garden buildings and historical and cultural streets in Suzhou. They felt that the trip to China was very smooth, and they are looking forward to the next trip to China!
