Spanish Translation

Thank you very much for the trust given by the studio, and let me have the opportunity to be the Spanish interpreter of June 7th for Clan Hing. Although the trip to Changsha was only two days, I gained a lot, so after the work was finished, I also purposely recorded my feelings, hoping to share them with you.

First of all, in order to complete the interpretation work with high quality, adequate preparation is indispensable, and the reality is that the challenge is often "time is tight and the task is heavy" - this requires us to calmly solve unexpected situations. In this case, I only received the specific time and place arrangement the day before the conference, but what if I could not finish translating all the manuscripts? Therefore, the fragmented time during the high-speed train ride and after checking into the hotel became the ideal opportunity to remedy the situation, and the efficient translation and repeated checking made the meeting on the next day go smoothly.

Secondly, there are indeed many uncertainties in the formal translation process, which requires us to be flexible. Take this meeting as an example, since the client is in Colombia, which is 13 time zones away from us, video call has become the preferred mode of communication. However, due to the instability and delay of the network, it is true that I may not be able to listen to the other party's speech clearly, and in order to ensure the accuracy of the translation, the best thing to do at this time is to politely ask the client to repeat the key contents, and the other party will also understand very well to cooperate with us in our work. On the other hand, the initial nervousness of translation is unavoidable, but it is a very normal phenomenon. If you suddenly forget a specific expression, you should search for the relevant synonyms in your own vocabulary database as quickly as possible, because the duty of business interpreters is to make a good bridge between the two sides, and to exchange information timely, accurately, and to the best of our ability.

Finally, in addition to solid professional knowledge, a sense of ethics, gratitude, and politeness and humility are also indispensable traits for translators. During this contact, I also realized more and more that a good cooperation is pleasant for both parties. In the process of communication, I insisted on using honorific language to show as much respect as possible to the other party, whether it was to Clan Hing or its clients in Colombia; and the warm hospitality I received in Changsha not only made me feel at home, and realize the enterprise spirit and style of Clan Hing, but also made me determined to do my best to complete this translation work and live up to the trust of the company. Here, I would like to express my gratitude to the studio again. Because of your appreciation, I can continuously improve and upgrade myself in practice. The road is long, but the journey will come. Finally, I would like to send my most sincere blessings to the studio, wishing it a bright future and a prosperous journey!
