Last week, in the middle of the week, Snowy asked me if I was free on Thursday and Friday for an interpreting project about soccer, for a meeting between Manchester City Football Club and a company. So I did an afternoon of preparation for this, for example, I would familiarize myself with the rules of soccer, organize all the relevant professional vocabulary, I would learn about the history of Manchester City Football Club and the Abu Dhabi consortium behind it, and I would also look up some relevant information about the City Football Group, this time the participant was the vice president of the corporate cooperation department of the City Football Group in Singapore, and together with them there were also officials of their marketing department, and the other party was also a very good model of cooperation, and I would put together a list in advance, so I would be able to make an interpretation for the meeting. The partner is also a very good example, will be in advance to the ppt to us, and then tell us in the meeting will be how to speak, and hope that we arrived a little early that day, so that he can put the ppt to us through the speech again, but also put the promotional video to us in advance, and at our request put the second time.
When we arrived at the company, the producer, who is also the boss of their company, received us in person and personally demonstrated the process to us, emphasizing to us which aspects he would focus on later, which added a lot of convenience to my work as well. Then the executives of City Football Group came to the company, listened to the PowerPoint presentation, and then discussed it, and everything went very smoothly, with me being the main translator and another translator assisting in the process.
Although they had to leave in a hurry because of their schedule, they couldn't even eat and the meeting ended early, both parties were very satisfied, they felt that I could speak clearly to them in a very short time during the introduction, which is a sign of strong language organization, and hoped that we could work together again in the future.
After the end of this project, yesterday afternoon I suddenly received a message from Sister Xue, saying that there was another dinner party that needed an interpreter, and I really wanted to say that I was going to play tomorrow, and that this dinner party must have been organized by Manchester City, right? The handover said that the other side will do a test, and then a phone call is really that day accompanied Mr. Chen to the senior management of China Security, he recognized me at once, and did not interview me again, that night's dinner also went very smoothly, there was a speaker canceled the speech, only the president and the senior management of the China Security speech, and then a sudden change of plans, there is a culture, sports and Tourism Bureau officials want to speak, so I am slightly nervous, but I have done a lot of relevant preparation, and I am very nervous. Fortunately, I had made a lot of preparations, so my reaction on the spot was relatively calm and I didn't make any mistakes, and the actual translation time wasn't too long.
I bumped into a lot of interesting people during the project, including the host of the Shenzhen TV station, who was also the host of the dinner party, and a lot of people from the third party company, including my senior. The translation project lasted for two days, I think preparation is very important, this time I also greatly improved my understanding of soccer, before I was a person who didn't care about soccer matches at all, now I know about La Liga and Serie A. I can feel that I did a good job, and this kind of work is very important to me, I can feel that I did a good job. It's enough to feel like you're doing well and that the feeling is what you want. And always remember to be open to challenges.
Another good news about fitness lately is that I filled out my information yesterday and am going to be a trainer at Super Gorilla, and then I will start my personal training and classes, so now I have a third job in addition to teaching and translating, and I'm kind of a slash youth.
