On the 20th, I'm going to be on a conference, which is actually okay, but it's a conference with more leaders from the city government and the city council, and accordingly the preparation time will be a little bit longer. I actually like to do that kind of technical communication meeting, because I feel that the technical theme of the meeting is really simple, just need to take care of some of the proper nouns on the line.
But what I found more mind-numbing was the kind of government-type meetings that were read from a script, and it was hard for me to be sure that I could instantly think of some of the written terms, such as implementing the spirit of the 20th Congress, building a full-scale dual-reform demonstration area, and so on. So I really read the material back and forth several times. Translators usually have to practice a lot, and my level sometimes fluctuates. The more advanced ones will take longer to prepare and are more stressful, and the simpler ones will earn less. So it is recommended that you practice more in your spare time, memorize more government work reports, so that Chinese-English translation is basically no problem. For English-Chinese translation, just practice listening every day.
Just now my husband was a little bit emotional because of my daily preparation for the past few days, but it's not a good time for anyone. If you outsource all your business to someone else, your own language skills decline, and you can't spend your whole life as a simple exhibition interpreter or business escort.
So babies, this industry really is something you have to practice every day once you're in the door. I remember in 2019 there was a time to do more than 100 people in the design type of conference, make people sleep every day. There was also a time in 2012 to do a conference, really stressful, do not dare to sleep at night, although the final results are good, but each time the experience of preparing for the meeting is very painful.
So then, many times I will outsource the difficult to do the meeting, do some simple, but now there is some contradiction, there is not a penny is good, I have read more than a hundred pages of information, when I finished the meeting, I will talk about the whole process of preparation for the meeting, to get into the industry can take a look at it, and then assess their suitability for the industry.
What I tell you is basically a very real experience, more grounded, I do not feel that I have a high end, just an ordinary language operators, will slowly share the industry information with you. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment and share your views.
